The AquaClear 70 Powerhead is a versatile and high-performing pump designed to enhance various aspects of aquarium maintenance. It excels in driving undergravel filters, efficiently circulating and aerating water, and can be connected to protein skimmers, making it an indispensable tool for marine aquariums. Freshwater setups also benefit from its ability to create beneficial water currents.

One of the key features of the AquaClear 70 Powerhead is its reverse flow functionality, which directs water down the undergravel riser stem and beneath the gravel. This process encourages bacterial growth from the bottom up, helping to establish a thriving environment for beneficial nitrifying bacteria. The infusion of oxygen-rich water beneath the gravel bed further supports optimal conditions for these vital microorganisms.

This powerhead is designed with a range of innovative features, including a compact, energy-efficient, and fully submersible motor protected by epoxy resin to withstand both fresh and saltwater environments. The venturi aeration feature enhances surface agitation and gas exchange, promoting healthier water conditions. The AquaClear 70 Powerhead also includes a convenient rim attachment bracket that easily fits most standard aquarium rims and offers adjustable flow control. With a flow rate of up to 1514 liters per hour (400 U.S. gallons per hour), it is suitable for aquariums up to 284 liters (75 U.S. gallons).
