The Seachem Tidal 75 Filter is designed for aquariums up to 75 US gallons (300 Liters) and provides exceptional filtration. It features ventilation slots and aeration grooves in the lid and outflow to ensure that water returned to the tank is fully oxygenated, enhancing gas exchange during filtration. The filter operates with a bottom-to-top flow, pushing water up into the media basket from below and exiting through the top. This design ensures complete contact with the filter media and prevents water from bypassing it.
A maintenance alert system activates when the filter media becomes clogged, redirecting water around the filter and signaling via a blue alert when cleaning is necessary. The built-in surface skimmer captures water just below the surface to remove floating debris and fish oils, while the adjustable telescoping intake pipe allows water to be drawn from any tank level without stopping the filter.
Flow regulation is managed by a dial on the front, with additional adjustment for intake flow versus surface skimming through a side dial. The filter basket has a large capacity and is compatible with a variety of filtration media, starting with Seachem's Matrix™ bio-media included in the package. For convenience, the basket is fully removable and snaps into the lid for easy, drip-free cleaning. The self-priming pump eliminates the need for manual siphoning, and the self-cleaning impeller is suited for both saltwater and freshwater environments. An adjustable leveling device ensures the filter fits a range of aquarium styles, and an optional heater holder helps distribute heated water throughout the tank.
